![]() A view of the old "King William the Fourth", occupying the same oblique corner site as the present building, but opening directly onto the pavement, like the adjoining cottages. This view was possibly taken in the 1920s or 30s. More pictures of the old "King Bill" can be found on the Image Archive pages. The King William IV stands on Station Road, at the corner of Warwick Lane. The present building dates from approx 1938, when it replaced a much more modest licensed house, surrounded by small framework knitters' cottages, and an old hosiery factory (see above).
