The first chapel in Melton Mowbray was housed in an original Nissen hut type building. The statue of Our Lady was consecrated in 1953.

The new Polish church was consecrated in 1963 on a site specifically purchased for that purpose on Sandy Lane. Construction of the Polish club begins next to the new church.
