Submitting Pictures Using a Camera Phone

You can now send pictures to Leicestershire Villages using your mobile camera phone.

To use this facility you first need to enter details of your mobile phone in your the 'My Details' section of your 'Control Panel'. Do this by completing the field called 'Mobile Number' and, if you have one, entering the e-mail address for your phone.

You will then be able to use your phone to send a picture to the address inbox@leicestershirevillages.com. The Leicestershire Villages site will then use your standard e-mail address, mobile number or mobile e-mail address to identify your incoming message and place the picture in your 'Inbox'.

To view the contents of your Inbox go to the 'My Inbox' section of your 'Control Panel'. You will then be able to display, rename or delete postings.

To include the picture in a gallery simply add an item as usual but select the appropriate Inbox item from the list rather than uploading a picture from your hard drive.

Disclaimer

This is an experimental service and is still being tested across mobile networks. Currently it works fully with messages that have been sent as e-mail attachments and picture messages that have been sent to the inbox@leicestershirevillages.com address on the Orange network. Other networks may work. We would welcome your support in testing the service from other networks but cannot be held responsible for any lost messages. Remember, your network provider will charge your for messages sent.
