Open Garden

The total raised for Rainbows from our 5th Open Garden on Sunday July 20th 2008 was £1,247.00. We had 119 people through the gate who enjoyed cream teas, freshly filled cobs and cakes etc. The stalls included tombola, plants, books, bric-a-brac, craft, cakes and golf game. A special thank you must be given to Anne Hughes, a qualified reflexologist, who donated her services free of charge for the afternoon. Visitors enjoyed 15 minute foot massage sessions with Anne who installed her portable couch in a gazebo in a quiet part of the garden. Everyone who took part was very relaxed and satisfied. The top four raffle prizes were won by: Pauline Burnham - £25. voucher: Mary Jacques – Family ticket to Stonehurst Farm; Ena – Food Steamer; Alan Jenning – Box of Biscuit. There were two Lottery Bonus ball winers of £25. each – Edie Mould and Helen Reid. This year Pat, Jeanette and Jean (namely the Raindrops) presented a cheque for £3,000.00. to Rainbows Ambassadors Bob and Pauline Wells. This represented monies they had raised from various events during the year 2007. A big thank you to all visitors who came and supported this event and made it a real success. Thanks also to all family, neighbours and friends without whose help it would not have been possible.
