Available Church and Burial Records

This lists the records of christenings[C], marriages[M] and burials[B] which took place at Mowsley parish church and which can be found at the Record Office for Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland. The dates for which banns are held are shown in brackets after the marriage dates. Bishop's Transcripts [BTs] are contemporary copies which are also shown. It also provides information about burials and cremations outside the parish church.

There is an extension onto the churchyard and the records for that are kept by the parish chairman and are available on request. The nearest crematorium is probably Kettering Crematorium, East Lodge, Rothwell Road, Kettering NN16 8XE. Leicester Crematorium might also be used. This is in Gilroes Cemetery, Groby Road, Leicester LE3 9QG. The records are available in person or by request from Leicester City Council, New Walk Centre, Welford Place, Leicester LE1 6ZG. There is a charge.
