Usually issued monthly it contains a message from the Priest-in-Charge Reverend Alison Hampton, contacts for Rev Hampton and the Lay Readers, times of church services, and a guide to community events and activities.
The newsletter also contains advertisments for local businesses and service providers, and is wholly funded by them.

Open air summer services are held at the Knaptoft Church ruins.

PCC

The Parochial Church Council (PCC) is the executive body of the parish (church) and consists of Rev'd Hampton, church warden and representatives of the laity elected by the annual parochial church meeting.

The PCC is responsible for promoting the mission of the church in its parish, the financial affairs of the church and the care and maintenance of the church fabric and its contents. It also conceives and supports events to raise monies for nominated charities.

The Mowsley PCC meets four times each year plus AGM, either in the church or at the house of a council member.

Chairman: Rev'd Alison Hampton
Vice Chairman: Mr Mike Bosworth

Volunteers

Volunteers are always required. Particularly cleaners, people prepared to read lessons and provide cover for playing the organ in services, and support staff for special events.

Special Events

The PCC organises regular fundraising events.

For example, the Mowsley Summer Festival involved an open church with floral displays, open gardens, an art exhibition and refreshments in the village hall, plant, book and bric-a-brac sales and a tombola, and raised £2396 for good causes (see 'Events').

An earlier 'Boxes and Baskets' festival in the church attracted exhibits decorated with flowers from households throughout the village.

If you have any ideas for fundraising events suitable for the parish then please get in touch with the PCC.
