Teddy the Golden Retriever (PAT Dog 17887)

Introduction

Teddy at Lindisfarne, Holy Island

Hi! I am Teddy the Golden Retriever. I have recently retired on vetinerary advice, but for some years I have been a registered, licensed, microchipped and working PAT Dog, attached to Coalville Community Hospital. Newton Burgoland children called me "Teddy the Doctor Dog" because I worked on the wards with patients, helping them to feel better. One patient called me 'an angel in fur pyjamas'.

PAT stands for 'Pets as Therapy', a charity founded in 1983 by Lesley-Scott Ordish. In addition to my regular hospital visits, my handler and I visited schools, church groups and social clubs to inform people about our work. If your group would like the opportunity to meet us, in the first instance please contact goldentedpat@yahoo.co.uk leaving full details and a land line telephone number.
