The village hall is on the Main Street next to the Bradgate, originally built in wood, the present building was built in 1930 by Lindsay Everard of the well known brewing company. In 1972 Everards granted the Parish Council a lease at a peppercorn rent provided it was managed by a competent committee. It was recently refurbished [2007] and is indeed run by a competent Committee of Representatives from many of the village organizations and headed by the Chair, Michael Upstone. A new ventilation and P. A system has recently been installed during the summer of 2007 and the former will make meetings in the hall much more comfortable. The facilities may be hired by village groups and occasionally by residents of the village for private functions. The 2009 AGM was recently held. In the Chairman's report he thanked Penny and Charlie North who have just retired as Caretakers after thirty years service. He went on to say that they had carried out their task so effectively and in such a quiet way that many people would not have appreciated just how much they had done. ![]()

The rooms may be hired independently of each other.![]() ![]() This photograph shows the bar at the end of the small room***********************************************Last Updated Mon, 30 Mar, 2009. |
