BOGUS COLLECTOR TAKES CHARITY DONATIONS IN PACKINGTON

The Salvation Army recently handed out bags for the collection of unwanted clothes, books and bric a brac in Normanton le Heath and nearby villages, including Packington. The bags were due for collection on Monday 12th July.

It appears that in Packington, many bags were collected by someone other than the Salvation Army. A man in his fifties, in a white van, was seen collecting bags from front doorsteps around lunchtime and in the early afternoon. The real Salvation Army collectors arrived later in the day and only managed to collect 2 bags. It is estimated that the unofficial collector took over 35 bags meant for charity. More »
