The Oadby Fairtrade Town Campaign Team includes members of faith groups, shops, community groups, Oadby & Wigston Council, the library & others. It's a spin off from Oadby Community Stakeholders and aims to gain Fairtrade status for Oadby through completing the 5 steps to Fairtrade Town status:

- the local council passes a resolution supporting fairtrade in Oadby - this has already been done
- fairtrade goods are available in at least 5 shops & 3 cafes in Oadby - we just need one more cafe
- fairtrade products are used by a number of workplaces and community organisations - we're auditing this
- the team attracts media coverage and popular support for fairtrade - we're just starting on this
- a Fairtrade Town team is convened - this is already in place

Can you help us?

We meet to plan 4 times a year on a Friday morning 9.30-10.30am at Beauchamp College Training Centre, and hold events throughout the year.

You could help by:
- coming along to meetings
- spreading the word and encouraging friends to support fairtrade
- passing on adverts for events to people you know
- helping out at events
- receiving the minutes of meetings so that you can let others know what's happening
