PUBLIC TRANSPORT

ARRIVA SERVICE 127 AND PAUL S WINSON SERVICE 99

Rothley benefits from an excellent Arriva bus service between Leicester and Loughborough, the bus numbers are 127 and a limited village service 99, which is operated by Paul S Winson Coaches.
A new Timetable is effective from 27th January 2008 for the 127 service and from the October 2007 for the 99 service. Both timetables are available in Rothley Library.
There are application forms in Rothley Library for the Charnwood Gold Card for free bus travel for people aged 60 and over and disabled people.

The Leicestershire County Council also operates services to villages close to Rothley and further details can be obtained by phoning Traveline on 0870 6082608.

Charnwood Link Service 99 is operated by Paul Winson Coaches on behalf of the LCC and calls at Mountsorrel, Rothley, Thurcaston, Birstall and Leicester. Return journeys start from High Street in Leicester.

KINCHBUS SERVICE 2

There is also Bus Service 2 operated by Kinchbus which runs from Leicester to Loughborough via Birstall, Cossington, Sileby and Barrow. This bus travels the A6 and turns down to Cossington at the Red Lion crossroads in Rothley. For further details phone Traveline on 0870 6082608 or timetables are available in Rothley Library.

Services to Nottingham East Midlands Airport can be found in the comprehensive bus timetable for Loughborough and surrounding area which is available in Rothley Library.

WOODS COACHES SERVICE 27

From the 28th January 2008 Service 27 started. This is an hourly service provided by Leicestershire County Council and operated by Woods Coaches.

This service runs between Loughborough, Barrow upon Soar, Walton on the Wolds, Seagrave, Sileby, Mountsorrel, Rothley Lodge, Syston and Thurmaston.

LEICESTERSHIRE ATTRACTIONS BY BUS

Leicestershire Attractions by Bus is a new leaflet about popular attractions easily reached by bus in Leicestershire and the 2008 booklet is now available in Rothley Library.
Covering Heritage and Architecture, Shopping, Family Days Out, Museums and Art Galleries and Garden Parks and Nature this booklet tells you how to travel by bus and the services available.
If you want to visit Woodlands Nurseries at Stapleton or the Art Dejardin Sculpture Centre in Wing, Rutland then this booklet will tell you the buses to catch.

PARK AND RIDE

Park and Ride operates every 15 mins from County Hall Car Park every Saturday from 08.45-17.30. This is Service 101, the Quicksilver Shuttle.
A leaflet about all Park and Ride services including Meynells Gorse and Oadby Racecourse is available in Rothley Library.

SAINSBURY'S/FOSSE PARK

The X6 Arriva Service runs from Fosse Park to Loughborough hourly from Monday to Saturday. It does not pick up in Rothley village. A leaflet is available in Rothley Library.

COMMUNITY TRANSPORT IN AND AROUND LOUGHBOROUGH

Voluntary Action Charnwood offers a social car scheme and accessible mini-bus services for older or disabled people who cannot use ordinary buses.
