CHURCH STREET

Church Street, Rothley

There are three Grade ll Listed properties in Church Street.
One is an early 18th century cottage built of red brick with granite rubble stone plinth and fragments of timber framing. It has a Welsh slate roof with a brick central stack. There are one and a half storeys of 2 two-light horizontal sliding sashes with 2 similar Lincolnshire dormers over. There is a horizontal beam at dormer level sill level and similar at eaves level to rear. In the rear gable of the one and a half storey wing is a tie beam truss with collar and clasped principals.

Church Street, Rothley

There is a late 18th century house built of red brick, whitewashed to the front with moulded brick cornice and Swithland slate, part twin span, roof with brick ridge and end stacks. It has two and a half storeys of four 8/6 and 8/2 sash windows. There are 3 sash dormers half below the eaves. On the ground floor from the left there is a garage door, arch with doors within, rectangular sashed bay, doorcase with broken pediment on brackets, 6-panelled door and fanlight and a similar bay.

Church Street, Rothley

The third property is a late 16th/early 17th century cottage which was refenestrated and re-roofed in the mid 20th century. It is cruck framed, whitewashed brick with granite rubble stone plinth and timber framing with a Welsh slate roof with brick left end stack. It has two storeys of two 4-light casements over bow, central door and 3-light. On the right end a pair of cruck blades and, on the rear, 6 x 2 panels of timber framing.
