CHARNWOOD BOROUGH COUNCIL LOCAL INTEREST LIST

Some village buildings do not qualify for Listed Status but are of sufficient quality and architectural interest to be included in the new Charnwood Borough Council Local Interest List.
There are 3 listings at present (Feb 2005):

ROTHLEY CEMETERY CHAPEL

Rothley Cemetery Chapel was 100 years old in September 2004 and its history can be read by clicking on the link below

After writing the history of the chapel I made enquiries about its future and the possibility of it being given Listed status. It did not qualify but I was advised that a list was being drawn up of buildings and structures that were of interest and I was pleased to have this included.

GREAT CENTRAL RAILWAY BRIDGE

This is the bridge at the junction of Westfield Lane, Station Road, Swithland Lane and The Ridgeway.

PRIVATE HOUSES IN ROTHLEY

These are 33, 54 and 62 The Ridgeway, Rothley
