» RothleyHERITAGE OPEN DAY 2009Despite the Civic Trust (England) going into administration in April 2009 it is understood that English Heritage will be taking over the Heritage Open Days this year. However, the Rothley Heritage Team will still be going ahead on Sunday September 13th. There are also additional events at the Parish Church on Saturday September 12th as detailed below. One of the venues will also be open on Saturday 12th September so please check the information below for dates and times. Saturday 12th September 7.30pm A Musical Soiree with wine and nibbles at the interval. The renowned Cecilian Singers will be performing this musical evening. Donation of £3 requested. Sunday 13th September Festival Sung Evensong using the 1662 Prayer book with the Sermon in the style of Richard Burton. THE DEPARTURE OF THE DEADThe first publication of the Rothley Heritage Trust is The Departure of the Dead, The Story of Burial in Rothley, and the book launch will take place on Saturday 12th September in the Parish Church. This is the 'Rothley Baptist Burial Ground Gardening Team' preparing this 'Secret Garden' in the centre of Rothley for the Heritage Open Day. We work every Friday morning from 10-12noon.
