TREES IN ROTHLEY ROADS

Wherever you look in Rothley you can see trees either as a backdrop to housing, newly planted by homeowners or in gardens once part of parkland or fields. Here is a reminder of how lovely our trees are in winter and what we can look forward to in the spring with new growth and the summer for their shade.

Sadly, many of our new developments leave no room for trees and no front gardens for shrubs.

Our latest development, Knights Court on the Loughborough Road, will leave little room for vegetation but will benefit from the existing backdrop.

We must make sure that planners understand the importance and beauty of trees in a village setting so that we do not leave a legacy of concrete for future generations.
