On Wednesday May 16th the Blaby South Community Forum had its Decision Night to vote on how to allocate its budget of £10,000.

9 projects had been submitted, one withdrew before the event as they had secured funding elsewhere, and one project withdrew on the evening so 7 projects put forward their case on an exciting and tense occasion.

Several project proposers changed their original proposals as the event unfolded, in the light of comments and suggestions that emerged, and after an excellent pitch, the Huncote Parish Council agreed to fund the £290 requested from the Huncote Lunch Club. More »

"Could you make space for a child?"

According to the Fostering Network a child comes into care every 22 minutes across the UK.

Children need foster carers following a family crisis, if their parents become ill or if their family home is unsafe. This could involving caring for them for anything from a few days right though to the rest of their childhood.

Fostering a child is one of the most challenging but also rewarding things you can do and anyone can make a success of fostering. It doesn't matter whether you are married, cohabiting, single, gay or straight and we are looking for foster carers from all racial, religious and cultural backgrounds. More »

9 community projects have been submitted for the Blaby South Community Forum area. Each of these projects have requested a share of the £10,000 allocated to the Community Forum.

You can now view and comment on each proposal, offering suggestions for improvement. The information collated at this stage will help inform discussions at the Community Forum Budget Decision Night.
