Walks

There are good walks and footpaths leading in all directions out of Scraptoft. For an online map showing all rights of way, visit the Maps of Paths site at Leicestershire County Council.

The Scraptoft to Keyham Circular Walk is particularly satisfying, taking in the Dog and Gun pub in Keyham which serves good food and beer.

The Scraptoft Walking Group sets off from the gates of Scraptoft Hall at 1.30 pm on the second Sunday of every month.

Geocaching is a growing pastime in Leicestershire. There is one cache hidden in Scraptoft and several in the surrounding area.

Golf

Scraptoft Golf Club is a parkland course set in beautiful countryside. The club offers excellent facilities including bar, restaurant and professional shop.

Rugby

There are two rugby clubs in Scraptoft, with neighbouring grounds on Covert Lane. Aylestone St. James RFC (popularly known as 'Jimmies') was formed in 1901 and has an active youth programme. The Leicester Falcons American Football team also train at the Jimmies ground every Sunday at 12.30.

Stoneygate RFC is even older than Jimmies, having been founded in 1888. It has both mens and ladies rugby, sevens and social events. The ladies team is the premier side in Leicester, having been promoted three seasons in succession.
