Memory Plus supports professional providers of dementia care in the development and delivery of activities using museum objects, reminiscence and multi-sensory approaches.On completion of Memory Plus training, care providers can borrow tailor-made, themed resource boxes for use in their care settings along with an accompanying activity 'toolkit'.The Memory Plus boxes, specifically developed for people with varying degrees of dementia, contain artefacts, objects and multi-sensory items suitable for use during the delivery of reminiscence activities.The training, toolkit and use of the Memory Plus Boxes are intended to have a positive impact on the lives of people with dementia. Save up to £50 a month by learning some top tips in cooking up a treat using leftovers.

These free cookery classes have been running since 2010 and have taught over 190 people to love their leftovers and reduce the amount of food they waste.

As well as cooking up to three recipes, Leicestershire residents who attend a class can pick up tasty recipe cards and take home a free goody bag containing giveaways including a spaghetti measure and a meal planner.

Transform a child's life and join Leicestershire's top 40

If you could make space for a child, why not pick up the phone and find out more about becoming a Leicestershire County Council foster carer?

Foster carers transform children's lives and are needed for children of all ages following a family crisis, if their parents become ill or if their family home is unsafe. This could involve caring for them for anything from a few days to right through the rest of their childhood.

The council has launched a 12-month recruitment drive to find 40 extra carers able to offer youngsters a secure and loving home. More »
