St John The Evangelist, Shenton

St John the Evangelist was also an Apostle. He stood at the foot of The Cross with Mary, who Jesus gave to him as his mother. St John's emblem is an Eagle, the only bird thought to be able to look fearlessly into the sun, thus symbolising John's ability to look at God's Truth. His Feast Day is 27th December.
