Snarestone is a chapelry, annexed to the parish of Swepstone. The church is dedicated to St. Bartholomew and has a register which began in 1559 but it was, in fact, rebuilt in 1752. It was rebuilt in brick with stone facings. It has a square tower with two bells and in 1846 it was nearly covered with ivy. It was enlarged in 1834 to have 150 sittings. The arched windows in the enlarged area imitate the eighteenth century windows except for the fact that they have been lined with brick instead of stone.
