Newton Burgoland and Swepstone Produce Show - 5 September 2010

The Newton Burgoland and Swepstone Produce Show will take place on Sunday 5 September 2010. It will be held at The Primary School and Wraggs Yard, Newton Burgoland, by kind permission of the Head Teacher and Governors. Entries (from Newton and Swepstone residents only) must be entered by 11.45 am and staged by 12.00 noon, then not removed until 4.00 pm. The show opens at 1.00 pm and the exhibits open from 2.00 pm. Children's Fancy Dress with prizes to be judged at 2.00 pm on Wraggs Yard.

Calling all the young people out there in the villages! There is a young person's Fancy Dress Competition taking place on Sunday 5th September 2010 at the Produce Show. Competitors needed, so please start looking in your wardrobe now for the winning entry.

Appleby Group Harvest Supper - Saturday 2 October 2010

A special whole parish Harvest Supper will take place on Saturday 2 October 2010, at 7.00 for 7.30 pm at Norton Juxta Twycross Village Hall. The three course supper will cost £6.50 for adults and £3.00 for children. Tickets may be purchased from Margaret Ward (01530 270 270) or Philip Barber (01827 880 315). The guest speaker will be Miss Helen Sculthorpe who will entertain everyone with her memories of being in "The Women's Land Army" during WW2.
