Fixed Penalty Notices could be issued to dog owners who fail to clear up their after their pets , allow them in restricted areas* or don't put them on a lead when they are instructed to do so. * RESTRICTED AREAS - includes childrens play areas , marked out sports pitches etc. Any representations on the proposed orders must be submitted in writing to the address below by 31st May 2008: Blaby District Council Alternatively representations can be emailed to environmental.health@blaby.gov.uk by 31st May 2008. Janice Lock - In recognition of her service in the Community by delivering the Braunstone Life, befriending the elderly, delivering library books to the disabled and helping to run the Women’s Institute Jean and Derek Tinson - In recognition of Jean’s work voluntarily teaching Braunstone Town children to swim and delivering the Braunstone Life. Derek has been a regular driver for the Braunstone Town Minibus and helped with maintenance of minibus. Brian and Betty Copson - In recognition of their work at St Crispin’s Church, organising church activities and services, providing a counselling service and transport for residents with mobility difficulties Tony Thorpe - In recognition of his contribution to the community by delivering library books to the housebound and disabled, befriending the elderly and distributing disability equipment to those who require help David Hirst - In recognition of his contribution to the Braunstone Life with many years service as a volunteer and now as Archive Manager for the Life Bert Horobin - In recognition of his contribution to the Braunstone Royal British Legion for many years as Treasurer and Standard Bearer and for his fundraising for Galanos House Posted: Tue, 13 May 2008 15:40 Leicestershire Constabulary is urging residents to keep thieves locked out this summer. As the temperatures rise, so do the number of burglaries at properties where the windows or doors have been left open or unlocked. PC Ashley Russell, the Force's Crime Reduction Coordinator, said: "A lot of burglaries are carried out on the spur of the moment by thieves who see an opportunity, such as an open window, and take it. |
