(1935) Thurmaston CarnivalThis picture was taken at the 1935 carnival in Thurmaston. The float was the carnival queen's vehicle and Mrs Kate Fisher pictured decorated the float herself. She collected wooden hoops and crepe paper and created paper flowers that she attached to the hoops with pieces of wire. Her arm is in plaster in the picture as she had a fall on the morning of the carnival and broke her arm in two places. Also pictured in the photo is Mary Whalley and Raymond Whalley (both grandchildren).
