60 people attended the Parish Plan launch on 23rd September. Over 20 young people and their parents attended the earlier launch of the Young People results. Service providers from Leicestershire County Council, Harborough District Council, Rural Community Council (Leicestershire & Rutland), ENABLE (Environmental Action for a Better Leicestershire), Voluntary Action South Leicestershire, Harborough Local Policing Unit, the Leicestershire & Rutland Rural Housing Enabler (who can help provide affordable housing for local people), as well as Liz Auterson (Chair of Tilton Parish Council), Simon Galton (District Councillor) and Rev Julie Bradshaw (Halstead Methodist Church) all came along to listen to our plans for the future and to offer help and funding to achieve them.
The new parish group - TILTON GREEN was launched with the showing of the short film, 'Our Footprint, Our Journey' which illustrated how a similar sized village in Cheshire has worked together to reduce their carbon footprint and energy bills.
We need you to help us implement the action points from the Parish Plan, so please think about how you can play a part in making this parish an even better place to live. Short leaflets about the Parish Plan and TILTON GREEN which provide more information will be delivered to every house in the parish and the full Parish Plan report is available in the Village Shop, Rose & Crown, Tilton Garage, St Peter's Parish Church, Halstead Methodist Church and the Village Hall, and on our website: www.leicestershirevillages.com/tiltononthehill/.
