Available Church and Burial Records

This lists the records of christenings[C], marriages [M] and burials [B] which took place at Whetstone parish church and which can be found at the Record Office for Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland. The dates for which banns are held are shown in brackets after the marriage dates. Bishop's Transcripts [BTs] are contemporary copies which are also shown. It also provides information about burials and cremations outside the parish church.

There is a civic cemetery on Cemetery Rd, Whetstone and the records are available at Whetstone District Council, Council Offices, Cemetery Rd, Whetstone. Cremations tend to be held at Leicester Cemetery, Gilroes, Groby Rd, Leicester (Records held at Leicester City Council, New Walk Place, Leicester, Le1 6ZG)
