The route described below follows the red and green trails on the map and is about 4 miles in total. The walk to the top of Beacon Hill is relatively steep but the paths are, for the most part, firm under foot and the walk is punctuated by a number of informative display boards. The climb is worth it as there are magnificent views over some of the most picturesque parts of Leicestershire from the top of Beacon Hill. The walk as described below, again starts from the car park in Woodhouse Eaves. However if you wish to shorten the route it is possible to start from the Broombriggs Farm car park just off beacon Road in or the lower beacon car park at the top of Breakback Road. This trail is still being developed and more details will be added in due course. Click on the link below to return to the previous page showing Last Updated Tue, 18 Mar, 2008. |
